Fortune Cookie for Entrepreneurs

Have you ever cracked open a Fortune Cookie thinking that you’d receive the perfect message for you to enlighten your immediate future? Suddenly you put all your hopes in a small piece of paper contained in a tiny hard-like-brick V shape. I know I did! — Isn’t it ironic?

We all tend to forget that we can receive these messages any time we want without having to break a cookie. If only we’d stand (or sit) still for a few minutes, and breathe so that we can calm the mental chatter, or quiet our busy minds from thinking through solutions and making plans.

Here is the simplest way to receive your own messages (so you can’t find an excuse if it’s not happening!):

Step 1:Schedule 5-15 min (to start with; you can increase the time after a few days) of uninterrupted time.

Step 2: At that time, drink a glass of water and make yourself comfortable sitting on a chair, on the floor with pillows, or on a bed as long as your spine is stretched and up – not lying down because you may fall asleep)

Step 3: Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through the nose (and count to 4), then hold it (for 2 counts), and exhale gently and slowly through the mouth (counting to 8 ) as if you were trying to fog up a mirror.

Step4: Repeat 3 times and try to increase the time that you hold your breath.

Step 5: Breathing normally, imagine you are extending your coccyx (tailbone) into a cord that you plug into the center of the earth

Step 6: Put your focus on the top of your head (your crown chakra) and imagine you are anchoring it with a silver thread to the highest place in Spirit/God/Source/Universe. (I attach mine to the highest cloud ever!)

Step 7: Imagine you have this Higher Power (your Source) in the form of a big bright sun. Shower yourself with this light. Feel the warmth of the sun and the bright white and gold light on you.

Step 8: Ask your Source for a message on a specific question you have, saying something like: “I am open to receive a message for my highest good. I choose to be neutral. I release all fear and judgment; and I put aside my ego, opinions, and attachment on the outcome.” – Take a deep breath and be open to allowing an idea to pop in, or a word, a feeling, an impression.

PS: Today my Fortune Cookie was “Be an optimist. There does not seem too much use being anything else.” – I interpreted it as “watch your thoughts!” The perfect message I needed to hear from the Spirit at that time.
